1.1 LAMINATE-CLAD CABINETS (PLASTIC-COVERED CASEWORK)
A. Quality Standard: Comply with AWI Section 400 requirements for laminate-clad cabinets.
B. AWI Type of Cabinet Construction: Flush overlay.
C. Laminate Cladding for Exposed Surfaces: High-pressure decorative laminate complying
with the following requirements:
1. Horizontal Surfaces Other than tops: GP-50, 0.050-inch (1.270-mm) nominal thickness.
2. Vertical Surfaces: GP-28, 0.028-inch (0.711-mm) nominal thickness.
3. Edges: GP-28, 0.028-inch (0.711-mm) nominal thickness.
D. Materials for Semi exposed Surfaces: Provide surface materials indicated below:
1. Melamine decorative overlay.
E. Colors, Patterns, and Finishes: Provide materials and products that result in colors and
textures of exposed laminate surfaces complying with the following requirements:
1. Provide Architect's selections from laminate manufacturer's full range of colors
and finishes in the following categories:
a. Solid colors
b. Patterns
1.2 COUNTERTOPS
A. Quality Standard: Comply with AWI Section 400 requirements for countertops.
1. Grade: Custom
B. Type of Top: High-pressure decorative laminate complying with the following:
1. Grade: GP-50, 0.50-inch (1.270-mm) nominal thickness.
2. Colors, Patterns, and Finishes: Provide materials and products that result in colors and textures of exposed laminate surfaces complying with the following requirements:
a. Provide Architect's selections from manufacturer's full range of colors and
finishes.
3. Edge Treatment: Same as laminate cladding on horizontal surfaces.
4. Core Material: Phenolic resin, medium-density particleboard.
1.3 CABINET HARDWARE AND ACCESSORY SCHEDULE
